Our pets are our family members. But what happens if you can no longer take care of them – and how can you help others at the same time?</spacer>

PRESS RELEASE

Trusted Pet Partners empowers pet owners with easy-to use, online pet trust creation; Donates share of profits to animal charities

MAY 2010 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Each year, roughly half a million pets end up in shelters -or worse -because their owners pass away or are no longer able to care for them. Don’t let this happen to your beloved animal companion. Trusted Pet Partners offers a simple way to protect your pets and ensure their comfort and safety in case you are unable to care for them -through the creation of a legally-binding Pet Trust. The entire process takes about 15 minutes and is
done online through the company’s newly redesigned website, TrustedPetPartners.com.

Because of the founders’ strong commitment to the safety and well-being of all animals, Trusted Pet Partners also donates up to 25% of its Pet Trust fee to non-profit organizations supporting animals.

“You wouldn’t leave your child or family unprotected in the event that something terrible happened to you,” says Christopher Jones, co-founder of Trusted Pet Partners. “Your pets are part of the family, too. We as pet owners have a responsibility to make sure our loved ones are taken care of in case of an accident or a health-related catastrophe.”

Typical trust attorney fees run an average of $300-500 per hour. But for a one-time fee of $289, Trusted Pet Partners sets up a pet trust for up to five of your animal companions with easy-to use online forms and allows for unlimited updates to accommodate changes in your pets’ needs and situation.

Pet trusts are currently valid in 42 states plus the District of Columbia (a complete list of states recognizing pet trusts is available on the company’s website). Arrangements can be made for a pet in your will, but that will only address their care if you die, not if you become disabled. Pets can also be included in a family trust, but according to the legal experts at Trusted Pet Partners, it’s better to have a stand-alone document that can easily be updated to best suit your pet’s changing needs and situation.

Many companion animals have life expectancies that can easily exceed our time with them – parrots can live up to 60 years, reptiles can live for decades, even dogs and cats commonly live well past the 15 year mark. “You may think that a pet trust is an unnecessary expense – that you’ll always be there to take care of your pets,” says Jones, an expert in the field of estate planning with more than 40 years of legal experience. “The truth is accidents happen. People get sick. A pet trust is the best way to protect the animals you love when you no longer can.”
